Now there's a twist!
90 Day Fiance star Larissa Lima's Instagram was hacked, stolen right out from under her by some creep.
Some fans were quick to suspect that her ex-husband, Colt Johnson, was responsible -- especially after he appeared to claim credit.
Others had their reservations, even after Larissa went to the police over the theft.
But now, Larissa is going out of her way to exonerate Colt over the Instagram hack.
Colt's name is being cleared by the last person you'd expect
We'll show you that in a moment. First, a quick reminder of what went down.
Larissa's Instagram was hijacked
The colloquial term for this is "hacking," but it appears to have actually been a very convincing phishing scam. Anyway, just about a week after her divorce party, Larissa's Instagram was stolen out from under her. It cost her 200,000 followers.
Larissa made it known that she was hacked
Things seem to have stabilized, but she's still upset -- especially since reporting the account to Instagram did not seem to do much good.
Fans couldn't help noticing the IP
What Las Vegas resident could possibly harbor such hatred for Larissa? On a new Instagram account, Larissa implied that she suspected her ex-husband, Colt.
By the way ...
Larissa created multiple new Instagram accounts during this ordeal. The same fiend who stole her account in the first place reported her new accounts as impersonations and got them taken down. Weird how Instagram can be so fast in response to some claims but so apparently useless when it comes to others. Just think if the imposter had dared to display a ladynipple!
Colt seemed to take responsibility
Though he has since changed his Instagram profile description, his bio for a time boasted "moderate hacking skills." He works as a software engineer. It appeared to followers that he seemed to be taking credit.
Not everyone was convinced
Larissa's BFF, Carmen, was quick to shoot down that theory. She didn't think that he did it -- she just thought that he loves attention, even if it's negative, and wanted to make himself part of the drama. Yeah, that fits.
Larissa took it seriously
Just days after her profile was stolen, she went to the LVPD. It's not clear what went down within the precinct building, but she departed with a pamphlet on cybercrimes.
She's taking this seriously
90 Day Fiance fans have known for a long time that you DON'T want to get on Larissa's bad side
But Larissa isn't pointing the finger at Coltee
"One day, we were a family," Larissa writes on this nostalgic-seeming post. "Colt is not the person that hacked my account. Thank you guys."
She even tagged him in it!
This is not the first time that either party in this deeply contentious divorce has seemed to soften on their ex, but it's jarring and weird. She even included Debbie in the photo!
Why is she taking extra steps to clear his name?
Your guess is as good as ours, but we do have a theory ...
Maybe she just wants to move on
Larissa has a young, hot boyfriend. Eric is 26 years old, has his own car (presumably with air conditioning), and does not share a home with his mother.
Colt is ancient history
Sure, the two of them were married and living as husband and wife as recently as January 10, but Larissa is trying to look forward to the future.
Maybe she just wants the truth to be known
From day one, we reported that there was a theory that Colt was the culprit, but we stressed that it seemed more likely that Colt was just trolling because he lives for drama. But others seemed to believe that he was behind the Instagram shenanigans.
Or maybe it was more practical
In the past, Larissa has asked her followers to stop leaving negative comments on Colt's page. She didn't say why, except to express an interest in moving on.
Is being nice to Colt part of a legal strategy?
Whether it's to have a less contentious divorce or in the hope of convincing Colt to drop the assault charges over their January 10 fight, Larissa could have a lot to gain if Colt thinks of her more fondly than not.
Does she MISS Colt?
No. She has said this explicitly. She even regrets doing 90 Day Fiance. And now that she's with a man who treats her well, the flaws in her marriage to Colt seem even more glaring.
Eric brings her flowers!
More to the point, he showers her with affection and hugs instead of flirting with random retail employees. (Side note: please do not flirt with baristas or cashiers or anyone else who is at work; they are at work and they HAVE to be nice to you)
Larissa has moved on
And maybe enough time has passed that she no longer harbors such a significant grudge. Out of sight, out of mind, right?
So Coltee is in the clear
Which just leaves us with one major question remaining ...
Who is the actual culprit?
Honestly, probably someone looking to monetize her wealth of followers through an email phishing scam. Send out a hundred emails or a thousand promising Instagram verification, and if even one or two people fall for it, you get temporary access to thousands of followers. You can promote whatever you want -- if you have no dang conscience.
