Looks like Jim Bob Duggar has two more rebels on his hands!
In the past few years, much has been made of the various ways in which the children of Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar are flouting the strict system of rules they were raised with.
One of the most obvious examples is the fact that Jinger Duggar has started wearing pants instead of the floor-length skirts she was raised with, thus inspiring her sisters to violate the Duggar dress code as well.
But other Duggars are lashing out in ways that are at once more subtle and more substantial.
Chief among them are a pair of unlikely rebels -- John David Duggar and his new bride, Abbie Burnett.
Take a look:
The Newest Duggar Couple
At first, it looked as though John David and Abbie would be your typical Duggar couple. That has not proven to be the case.
Mixing It Up
John David and Abbie began bucking tradition right off the bat with a quirky wedding ceremony.
While the guest list and the vows remained the same, the couple rejected the usual venue -- the Cathedral of the Ozarks -- in favor of an airplane hangar.
Like First Dates Aren't Stressful Enough!
The couple's first date took place on a small jet that was piloted by John David.
Planes are such a big part of John David and Abbie's relationship that his proposal was plane-themed. Sounds like another Duggar couple might be soon to leave Arkansas!
Speaking of Geography
Unlike most Duggar spouses, Abbie is not an Arkansas native. She originally hails from Oklahoma.
History Repeats Itself
The last time a Duggar married someone from another state was when Jinger wed Jeremy Vuolo. She followed him to Texas shortly thereafter.
Jim Bob's Chagrin
Jinger's famously strict father was openly unhappy about the couple's decision to relocate.
Fortunately for Jim Bob, it doesn't look as though John David and Abbie will be setting out in search of greener pastures anytime soon.
In fact, we have reason to believe that the couple plans to remain in Arkansas for the foreseeable future. But Jim Bob probably isn't too thrilled by the evidence ...
Usually, Duggar wives remain at home and devote their lives to housekeeping and raising children while their husbands pursue careers.
However, Abbie worked as a nurse while living in Oklahoma, and sources say she recently filed paperwork to transfer her license to Arkansas.
Angry Jim Bob
It's hard to imagine that Jim Bob would be upset by something like that, but you can be absolutely certain he is.
Duggar women aren't expressly forbidden from pursuing careers outside the home, but they're strongly discouraged from doing so.
Defying the Rules
From a young age, girls in the Duggars' community are taught that procreation is their primary reason for being.
Exceptions to the Rule
The only one of Jim Bob's daughters to ever draw a paycheck is Jana, and that's only permitted because she remains single.
Rebelling From the Start
Even before their wedding, John David and Abbie were breaking his family's rules.
For example, they rejected the Duggar stricture that prohibits virtually all forms of physical contact prior to marriage.
While they drew the line at kissing, John David and Abbie engaged in such scandalous activities as hugging and hand-holding.
It may not seem like much, but it's enough to drive Jim Bob up a wall.
A Hard Road Ahead
Now, with Abbie planning to continue working, she and John David are sure to receive even more blowback from his father. Fortunately, they don't seem to care.
