By now, you’ve almost certainly heard the story.
Back in July, Amber Portwood was arrested for domestic violence after allegedly attacking boyfriend Andrew Glennon while he held the couple’s 1-year-old son.
It’s hard to believe the situation could get much worse from there, but things deteriorated rapidly.
Audio recordings from earlier altercations captured Amber threatening to stab Andrew and physically attacking him while he begged her to stop.
Amazingly, Portwood still has a job with MTV after all of that.
But if Farrah Abraham has her way, that won’t be the case.

Ups and Downs
Amber Portwood and Farrah Abraham have had quite the rocky relationship over the years.

The ladies have shared a spotlight since the very earliest days of the Teen Mom franchise.
The Throwdown
But their relationship famously deteriorated over the years, culminating in an incident in which they nearly came to blows while taping a reunion special.
Booted
Farrah was fired not long after, and it looked as though that would be the last contact she and AMber would ever have.
The Downward Spiral
Shockingly, however, when Amber was first accused of assaulting Glennon, Farrah offered words of support and encouragement.
Really?!
“I wish her all the best,” Farrah said in an interview with Hollywood Life.
It’s Sad, But Amber Made It That Way
“It’s really sad that … I think it’s just like everyone is saying. She has to focus on her health and her well-being,” Abraham continued.
Probably Hurts the Kids More
“I know it hurts, as a mom, to have your kids taken away,” Farrah added.
The Enablers
At the time, Farrah was not alone, and Amber had the full support of the entire Teen Mom OG cast.
The Evidence
But then those infamous audio recordings leaked, and just about everyone who had supported Amber had a change of heart.
Angry Farrah
“Wow this was sent to me today…†Farrah wrote on Insatagram, referring to the recording. “I’m so disgusted by the cast of teen mom…the injustice, no ethics, illegal abusive behavior in front of a child. 10 years same behavior…JAIL TIME FOR THIS FREAK!â€Â
Reversal of Opinion
“If all the ‘moms’ on this show support this behavior their [sic] all unfit moms, the show is responsible for this relationship, this child abuse,†her Instagram tirade continued.
Go Off
“Thank you for sharing this as this show allowing children to be used, abused, mistreated and puppets for show is completely sad, disgusting, heartbreaking and illegal,” Farrah wrote in a second statement. “This child [James], like Leah, needs to be far away from the freak Amber who doesn’t want to watch her own child.â€Â
In Good Company
Obviously, Farrah wasn’t alone in condemning Amber after the tapes were leaked. Many others spoke out against Portwood’s actions, including Abraham’s mom, Debra Danielsen — who was a bit more sympathetic in her comments.
Surprising Compassion
“I believe Amber must take time out to get the proper medical treatment she needs,†Debra told The Ashley’s Reality Roundup. “I know inside is a wonderful woman who is struggling and wants to be her best, but her support system has been weak to non-existent. I really think she has been misdiagnosed and hasn’t received medical treatment that would make her feel tremendously better
Doing a 180
Catelynn Lowell also started out supporting Amber — and she also had a change of heart when she listened to the recordings.
Well, You DID Say You Supported Her ….
“I would hope that from watching my journey for 10 years that you all would know that I do not condone violence of any sort especially in front of children… my heart breaks… and I am truly sad…†Catelynn wrote on Friday. “I in no way condone violence!! I hope she gets the help she needs…

“Just know that I didn’t hear that audio till all of you did and I’m so sad and heart broken….†Lowell added as an explanation for her earlier remarks.
Tyler’s Take
Lowell’s husband, Tyler Baltierra, was a bit more guarded in his comments.
Avoiding Any Mention of Amber
“Honestly…my heart is really saddened by what I have heard,†Tyler tweeted on Friday. “I just pray that everyone gets the help they truly need in this situation. Abuse is NEVER okay…EVER!â€Â
Only a Matter of Time
Amber hasn’t gotten the ax from MTV yet, but based on Tyler’s latest comments, the rest of the cast has encouraged their bosses to do what’s right.
Just Like Farrah
“We never ‘fought’ producers to get Farrah off the show, we don’t have that much power, unfortunately.†Tyler wrote. “We just expressed our concerns to the producers about that situation. Which is EXACTLY what we did today about this current situation with Amber. This whole thing is devastating!”
Keeping It Civil
Fellow Teen Mom OG cast member Cheyenne Floyd also went the diplomatic route, commenting, “All I can say is that I am a praying for everyone involved.. my heart is so sad after what I heard and I hope she gets the help she needs,”

Shockingly, the rest of the cast, including Maci Bookout, has kept quiet on the matter.
Shawn Blathers On
But Amber’s always-outspoken brother, Shawn Portwood, is offering up his take to anyone who will listen — and just like everything involving Shawn Portwood, it’s terrible and gross.
He’s Almost as Bad as Amber
“Did you hear the entire clip? Or just the clip the Andrew wanted you to hear? I’m not condoning what she said but I will say this there’s far more to that clip than what he gave them people to leak out,†Shawn wrote on social media. “He provoked her and provoked her and provoked her. Then when she finally snapped which I would too just not to the extent that she did he started with all the sweet talk and started recording her.
Knives Out
Addressing Amber’s machete and personally-engraved sword, Shawn wrote, “None of that stuff is hers. Andrew bought all of that stuff. He bought a lot of it without her even knowing it with her money. He admitted to me that he bought them she’s the one that told me that they were bought with her money.â€Â
But You Are an Enabler
“There is so much more to this. I really wish you people would stop calling me an enabler. These recordings were from months ago. Since that time she’s been going to a therapist and working on the issues that she has. I have never once condone what she did for what she said,” Shawn continued.
We’ve Heard Enough
“You people act like Andrew made of roses,” he ranted on. “Yes she did wrong and she said wrong but don’t believe just that little tidbit of what you heard. You heard only what HE wanted you to hear and automatically that makes her such a horrible person.â€Â
No Backstory Needed
Acting as though he’s freakin’ Columbo cracking the case, Shawn continued, “I just want you people to keep in mind that not everything is all butterflies with him like it’s made out to be. Who do you think leaked that audio? He is the one that leaked that audio. He leaked what he wanted you to hear not what he did want you to hear…You literally can’t justify that.”
