We've all known for a long time now that something is not right with David Eason.
Well-adjusted people just don't behave the way he does.
As his time in the Teen Mom spotlight drags on, he keeps getting worse and worse, and there really seems to be no limit for how low he can go.
Many fans of the show have expressed concerns that one of the issues with him is that he's a drug user, though we've seen little evidence of that.
Until now, that is.
David Eason is a menace to society.
The Biggest Downward Spiral
Before he got with Jenelle, he was arrested several times for things like DUIs, breaking and entering, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was even once jailed with her first husband, Courtland Rogers!
He was also accused of domestic violence by his ex-girlfriend, who claimed in court documents that he pushed her around and threatened to kill her while she was pregnant with their son.
Her story was so sad that a judge granted a restraining order against David for her and their son, which was only recently lifted.
And the abuse accusations have obviously continued -- just a few months ago, Jenelle called 911 for help after David allegedly pinned her to the ground so hard she thought he'd broken her collarbone.
It Gets Worse
But even though the abuse rumors are horrible enough, David definitely has more going on than just that.
So Many Red Flags
In December, the FBI began investigating him after he appeared to make death threats against the president in an Instagram video.
In a series of posts he made about the investigation, he claimed that he'd shoot anyone who came onto his property without his prior knowledge. He also showed off his collection of weapons, which included guns, knives, and even a poison dart.
In the weeks following that news, he began acting very strangely on social media. He played with a dead bird on Snapchat, and he threatened Teen Mom OG star Cory Wharton, just for some examples.
He also said that he'd beat his kids if they ever came out to him as transgender, which was enough to get his Facebook shut down.
In addition to all of that, he's been facing some legal trouble after illegally towing a handicapped man's truck, filming it, and putting it on YouTube.
Slow Down, Dave
There was also an incident in which he allegedly threatened a woman with a gun for having the nerve to pull over on the road near the entrance to his driveway.
It's just so much questionable behavior in such a short period of time, isn't it?
And now we may know why.
Setting the Scene
So yesterday was just like any other day down on the Eason family swamp. Jenelle had both Jace and Kaiser for the weekend, so the whole crew was there.
It was also unseasonably warm in the South, especially after such low temperatures earlier in the week. To celebrate, the family did a lot of outdoor activities,
Jenelle documented a lot of this on her Instagram story. Here's a screenshot of a video she shared where David used a chainsaw. Note the beer, too, because nothing says family fun like day drinking and chainsaws.
After a while of this kind of thing, the crew moved inside, and David began doing some cooking. And that's where things got a little questionable.
Jenelle's already deleted the video, but in it, we saw David chopping up some garlic and talking to someone. You could hear Ensley making her cute little kid noises in the background, so obviously the children were still around.
He was really struggling with the simple task -- the cutting board was sliding around everywhere, and he was running his mouth about playing drums while fumbling with the garlic.
And then the truth came out.
In the video, he was clearly heard saying "I took a f-ckin' Adderall, I shouldn't have tooken that sh-t."
And just like that, so many things make sense.
In case you're unfamiliar, Adderall is a prescription medication used to treat ADHD, but because it's an amphetamine somewhat similar to meth, it's very commonly abused.
Of course, it's entirely possible that David does have ADHD, and the Adderall he says he took was prescribed to him.
Except he did say "I took a f-ckin' Adderall, I shouldn't have tooken that sh-t," and it's hard to imagine someone talking about taking his prescribed medication in that way, you know?
Like, would it make sense for a diabetic to say "I took some f-ckin' insulin, I shouldn't have tooken that sh-t"? Of course not.
Jace does have ADHD, although Barbara has said that he takes a different medication. On Teen Mom 2, we've seen her send him to Jenelle's house with only the amount of pills he needs for the days he'll be over there.
According to the internet, some signs of Adderall abuse include aggression, paranoia, and mania. Sound familiar?
What a Nightmare
This may not be definitive proof that David is on drugs ... but, you know, it's still not a great look for sure.
Here's hoping that somehow, someway, he and Jenelle manage to get it together, just a little bit, at some point in the future. Because what's happening now just is not working.
