Briana DeJesus is simply relieved, you guys.
She’s also proud of herself, and despite a lot of ups and downs in her personal life, she’s not regretting where she is at the moment at all.
Not after Javi Marroquin was caught cheating on Lauren Comeau and not after Briana proudly kicked the realty star’s rear end to the curb.
In a new interview with E! News, Briana opened up about the drama surrounding her ex, as well as the drama in her own, always-turbulent life.
DeJesus talks about her past with Javi, her own recent break-up and how she feels about men and love and romance in general these days.
She does not mince words.
What’s the History Here?
Briana and Javi dated for a few months, toward the end of 2017 and the beginning of 2018, after Kailyn Lowry and Javi divorced and after she joined the cast of Teen Mom 2. The romance didn’t last long, but given Javi’s past with Kailyn, and Briana’s history with the franchise, it garnered many, many headlines at the time.
What Went Wrong?
Marroquin actually did NOT cheat on Briana, according to reliable sources. Instead, he tried to convince her to move to Delaware (where he and Kailyn are both based) and warned her against plastic surgery. Essentially, he tried to keep her under his thumb.
Peace Out, Javi!
“I felt controlled,†Briana said shortly after the split. “I felt like he was trying to manipulate me in a situation I didn’t want to be in.†And soon enough, she was gone.
Since Then?
Briana, who was involved in another messy relationship, with Luis Hernandez, who fathered her second child, most recently dated and broke up with some dude named John Rodriguez. Marroquin, meanwhile, got Lauren Comeau pregnant and then proposed to her.
A Cheating Bombshell
Well, perhaps “bombshell” is a strong word, considering Javi cheated a whole bunch back in the day on Kailyn Lowry. But we learned about a month ago that Marroquin slept with someone behind’s his fiancee’s back … and right in front of her face, basically.
It’s Actually Worse Than That, Too
The Dover Police Department was called to Marroquin’s home after he and Lauren got into a very loud and ugly screaming match about the former’s unfaithful ways.
Oh, God, What Did Javi Do?
HE SLEPT WITH ONE OF HIS CROSSFIT STUDENTS AT A PARTY HE AND LAUREN HOSTED. AND LAUREN WAS IN THE HOUSE AT THE TIME! WE REPEAT: DUDE WAS CAUGHT NUDE IN THE BATHROOM, WITH ANOTHER GIRL, BY HIS FIANCEE.

Way. “Javi threw a party Saturday night with friends and gym members at their house,†a source close to the situation told Radar Online. “At some point, Lauren went upstairs to go to sleep.†Allegedly, she then came back down… and caught Javi in the act.
So… They’re Over, Right?
Somehow, no. Reports indicate that Comeau did kick Javi out, but that didn’t last long, and the two have somehow since reconciled.
How Does Briana Feel About All of This?
She’s mostly just grateful. She’s proud of herself for getting as far away from Javi as possible, and given the unheaval in his life – not to mention his propensity for boning random girls – that may be for the best.
Give Me Some Credit, Folks!
“I think it’s f–ked up, but I’m just happy that was not me if you know what I mean,” Briana told E! News. “Imagine me, moved to Delaware with my two kids, and he’s in the bathroom doing something with somebody else? I probably would have lost it.”

“I was a little surprised only because of the story that I heard,†Briana previously told another celebrity gossip outlet, Hollywood Life. “I was a little surprised only because of the story that I heard. Like it happened in his house with [Lauren] in the same, you know, with him in the house. So that was kind of shocking to hear.”
He Isn’t My Problem, Guys
“I haven’t spoken to Javi in [months],†Briana also said to Hollywood Life. “I don’t know how long it’s been, but no, [we] haven’t spoken.â€Â

Briana tried to stay quiet, but she’s never been one to mince words, and you know she had to say something after some of these Javi stories broke.

What About Her Own Romance?
DeJesus split from John Rodriguez in August and there’s a rumor that he got another woman pregnant. Briana would not confirm to E! News, only saying: “I still don’t really know exactly what’s going on in our relationship right now.”
Is This True?
She continued: “We’re not together. We haven’t spoken and there’s just a lot going on. I don’t know how it’s going to play out on television. I still don’t know what the real deal is. It’s very confusing and hard to talk about.”
Did Briana’s Split Have Anything to Do with Marroquin?
Heck no, DeJesus insists. Not related. Not at all. “The timing sucks so bad but it had nothing to do with Javi,” Bri says.
What’s Next for the Teen Mom 2 Star?
“Right now, I just want to focus on my girls. I want to focus on my house. I want to focus on my business,” she says of Nova and Stella and her work. “I don’t have time for a boyfriend right now or try to figure those things out.”
The Survivor
Yes, despite all the recent shakeups in the Teen Mom universe, Briana is still going strong as one of the core cast members on Teen Mom 2. (Who would’ve seen that coming years ago?) And she’s doing her best to steer clear of the drama. (Or that?)
Former Friends
DeJesus was once close with Jenelle Evans, but the two of them had a falling out shortly after Evans was fired by MTV in the wake of her dog’s savage murder at the hands of her husband.

“She’s upset with me,” DeJesus recently tweeted. “A blogger asked me a question (if MTV will bring Jenelle back) and I said not as of now and she’s upset I said that.†Well, that settles that (not).

“Jenelle got mad at me because I was asked in an interview if I thought she’d come back to the show, and I said at this point I didn’t think that would happen,†she further explicated.

“She sent me a message telling me she can’t trust me,†Briana continued. “She told me that I’m not going to be invited to her makeup line launch because of what I said. I said okay to that, because what can I do? I said the truth and I guess that offended her.â€Â
Old Grudges Die Hard
As for Briana’s old feud with Kailyn Lowry … they may not be best of friends, but the good news is that it doesn’t look as though the two of them are actively antagonizing one another anymore. Or banging Javi.

Of course, that doesn’t mean they shy away from drama. Any temporary detente or non-aggression pact may end up being short-lived.
