90 Day Fiance: The Other Way continues with tears, culture clashes, and some genuine dealbreakers.
Biniyam gets excited for Ariela's arrival.
Kenneth embarks upon his bittersweet journey, leaving his family behind in pursuit of love.
Tim and Melyza are finally introduced.
Deavan's mom meets Jihoon's mom, and they only seem to agree on one thing.
And we see the jaw-dropping, toxic aftermath of Yazan's airport tantrum while Brittany wonders if she has made a huge mistake.
Brittany did not expect for things to be this bad
Upon her arrival, she hugged the production crew and revealed to them that she had brought a bottle of tequila. While alcohol is NOT illegal in Jordan and PDA is mostly just frowned upon unless it crosses the line, Yazan flipped out, yelling obscenities at Brittany. She had never seen this side of him before.
Yazan continued to berate her
Instead of chilling out and realizing that he had behaved inappropriately by flipping out at Brittany, he continued to do just that, trying to lecture her. In reality, he knew who she was, but suddenly felt faced with the fact that Brittany was never going to measure up to the lies that he had told his family (and himself) about her.
He demanded respect
Like any douchecanoe, he saw Brittany not changing herself to suit him as a personal insult.
But he immediately says that he doesn't respect her
Yazan here is doing a great impression of countless bad parents, demanding unearned respect while refusing to treat another person like their own human being.
Then, it got worse
When Brittany tries to explain to him why she is unhappy, he jabbers at her to be quiet, demanding her silence, and then flaps his hand in front of her face to silence her. I don't care who you are or what your culture is, that is rude as heck.
Brittany was miserable
Filled with regret, she began to quietly cry as the man she loved treated her in ways that should be an instant dealbreaker for anyone.
Yazan flipped the switch
He started asking why she was crying, seemingly the world's stupidest question, but it's a manipulation tactic. You act like a huge hostile jerk, then suddenly you're feigning kindness.
An awful first impression
This is not the first time that they have met, but this is the first time that Brittany has been faced with such despicable behavior. Yazan tries to play it off like it's the reality in Jordan, but as Brittany well knows, this is his issue.
Brittany is rethinking everything
In her hotel room, she drinks some of the tequila that she brought and tells the cameras that, given how Yazan freaked out over nothing, she doesn't feel safe telling him that she is still legally married. Honestly? Show or no show, that one display should be enough to end any relationship. She can just head home and leave Yazan in the dust.
Deavan and Jihoon
Deavan is finally arriving, and she's brought more than Drascilla and Taeyang with her. Her mother is coming, and Jihoon is nervous.
Jihoon moves out of his parents' house
He packs up to move into the shabby apartment. Meanwhile, his mom complains about Deavan and wonders what Deavan's mom will be like.
They pick up Deavan at the airport
Deavan didn't realize that Jihoon's parents would be picking them up -- this is not how she wanted to introduce her mom to them. They pack up the car and there isn't enough room, which is already not great.
Then came the ride to the apartment
Deavan's mom was terrified on the road (notably, American traffic behavior is considered courteous, polite, and safe by many international standards, including in South Korea and Japan).
The apartment was ... not great
While Deavan's mom's idea about what kind of housing Jihoon should have for himself were not realistic, both Deavan and Jihoon's moms agree that the shabby apartment is just not good enough.
Tim and Melyza
Finally, this season has introduced Tim and Melyza, two brand new faces. Tim is American, Melyza is Columbian. They met years ago at college.
Things were great
Even after Melyza moved back to Columbia, they maintained a long-distance relationship.
Melyza was going to move to the US ...
But she backed out when Tim screwed up. He cheated on her with a coworker during their long-distance
Now, he wants to make it right
This means moving to Columbia to be with her -- so that he is the one taking all of the risk, since he's the one who cheated and made her doubt their future.
This is big, but worth it
"Moving to Colombia is going to be very difficult," Tim acknowledged, "but it's going to give me and Melyza the best shot to start the life together that we want."
Kenneth and Armando
Everyone's favorite couple from this season (I swear these two are going to make everyone cry at least once) still haven't united.
That is about to change
Kenneth chronicles himself departing on his long journey to Armando, in Mexico.
It's not an easy journey
He's a father and a grandfather and he is leaving his family behind for love.
He has tears, but no doubts
Unlike Brittany's tears, Kenneth's are not the result of regret or anger -- just the natural sadness that comes from moving forward in his life.
Ariela and Biniyam
Biniyam prepares to pick up Ariela. He currently lives in a one-bedroom house with his brother and his sister-in-law. He also works under the name Baby Cool.
Ariela is not his first baby mama
This pregnancy was unintended, but he is looking forward to being a father again.
Ariela will be different
Biniyam says that Ariela trusts him, while his ex never did, so he expects that this will work out.
