Sometimes, celebrities make stunning confessions that have to do with their health, their sexuality or any one of several very personal and important topics.
Other times, celebrities simply spill about sex.
These are examples of those latter times, of when stars threw naked caution to the wind and talked openly about various aspects of their bedroom (or backseat!) behavior...
This remains the greatest quote uttered by one celebrity about another; possibly the greatest quote uttered by anyone ever. Said John Mayer of intercourse with Jessica Simpson: "Sexually it was crazy. That's all I'll say. It was like napalm, sexual napalm. Did you ever say, 'I want to quit my life and just f*****' snort you? If you charged me $10,000 to f*** you, I would start selling all my s*** just to keep f****** you.'"
I give him a 10! A f-ckin 10!
Elizabeth Hurley dated Hugh Grant for 13 years. And even though he cheated on her with a hooker, the actress still rated Grant as a "10" in bed when speaking to Andy Cohen about their sex life.
I give myself a 10!
Speaking of high marks, Katy Perry told Glamour in 2010 that she's sure ex Russell Brand would have given her a "10 out of 10" in the sack.
Maybe she wasn't a 10 after all? About sleeping with Katy Perry, Russell Brand once said: "I’d be having sex thinking, ‘Think of anyone, anyone else.'"
And the award for most covert sexual act goes to...
"We were on our way to Thailand to see my parents, flying commercial first-class," Chrissy Teign said of her and John Legend. "We were under a blanket. We weren't even in one of those pod things. I feel like we should get a trophy for that."
Up (or down!) for whatever
In an April 2012 interview for The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet, Gwyneth Paltrow admitted to not having a favorite sexual position, simply saying "I'm down with all of them."
On Cruise control
Yes, Cher once dated Tom Cruise. And, yes, she once told Andy Cohen that the actor "was in the top five" of her best lovers, adding: "It was pretty hot and heavy for a little minute. He's a great guy."
Martha Stewart also opened up to Andy Cohen, saying "maybe" when asked if she had ever had a threesome and also admitting to "sexting."
Come again? (Wait... he came again with her?)
Shared Armie Hammer to Elle: "One chick tried to stab me when we were having sex. I should so not be telling this story. She was like, 'True love leaves scars. You don't have any.' And then she tried to stab me with a butcher knife. Of course I promptly broke up with her . . . seven months later."
Moore was sort of less
Wilmer Valderrama has slept with A LOT of famous women. He labeled sex with Mandy Moore "good," but not "like warm apple pie" and once told Howard Stern that Ashlee Simpson was a "screamer."
Mile Lie Club?
Kris Jenner once recounted the time when she and then-husband Bruce Jenner thought they got away with sex on a plane, only for the stewardress to later get on the intercom, congratulate them and give them a bottle of champagne. (NOTE: We don't believe her.)
Angelina Jolie told Entertainment Weekly that her expecting state did not mean she expected, or wanted, less intercourse with Brad Pitt: "[Pregnancy is] great for the sex life. It just makes you a lot more creative, so you have fun."
An early beginning
George Clooney says he lost his virginity at age 16. But he once said the following about the first time he lost it on his own, so to speak: "I believe it was while climbing a rope when I was 6 or 7 years old. I mean, nothing came out, but all the other elements were there. I remember getting to the top of the rope, hanging off the rope, and going, 'Oh my God, this feels great!'"
SUCH a big O
Jessica Simpson was pregnant in 2012 when speaking to Ryan Seacrest and echoing Angelina's sentiments: "I'm kind of unstoppable right now," she said. "The Big O is, like, the biggest O ever!"
How many Os can you go?
Robin Thicke told Essence magazine in December 2011 that "I like to try to get her into double-digit orgasms as much as possible” in regard to wife Paula Patton. But maybe he should have gone for triple digits because Paula filed for divorce from him three years later.
Outsize one's comfort zone
Jada Pinkett Smith offered this advice to Redbook back in 2009, regarding how to keep a marriage fresh: "Be sneaky. . . . your girlfriend's house at a party. The bathroom. A bedroom. Think of places outside that are comfortable to have sex."
Have c-ck? Will travel!
Cameron Diaz has always been open about her sex life. "Oh gosh, I can't even count how many times I've gotten on a plane for love," she told Playboy in 2010. "I'm always traveling for [whispers] cock. You've got to go where it."
Zoe Saldana said in 2012 that she'll take it nearly any way she can get it: "I like missionary and I like being on my knees too. And I love being on top. . . . I love doggy style or standing up."
Then this hero came along?
Nick Cannon once told Howard Stern that he used to pleasure himself to then-wife Mariah Carey’s music "when she’s not there." That beats doing it when she is there, we guess.
Sting opened way up in a February 2011 interview with Harper's Bazaar, saying of wife Trudie Styler: "When we see each other, it's romance. I don't think pedestrian sex is very interesting. There's a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like to look good. I like her to dress up. I like to dress her up."
Go Jane Fonda!
As part The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet, the veteran actress revealed her favorite sexual position, sort of: "While I am quite flexible and I can kneel, [sex is] not quite as comfortable for me as it used to be before I had a fake knee... [I prefer to be] either lying down or sitting up on a couch with him coming on to me, no pun intended."
But maybe not as fast...
Talking at the These Girls event in October 2012, Olivia Wilde told the audience that she and fiancé Jason Sudeikis "have sex like Kenyan marathon runners." Can anyone blame Sudeikis?!?
