It’s looking more and more like a recent, violent outburst against a staff member will get actor Thomas Gibson fired from Criminal Minds.
If and when that goes down – he is currently suspended for kicking a writer – he will not be the first to experience the unlikely fate.

Charlie Sheen was the star of the hit sitcom Two and a Half Men for several years before going off the deep end. Following bad behavior and derogatory remarks about the show’s creator, he was replaced with Ashton Kutcher for the final seasons of the show.

Christian Bale was originally cast in the leading role for American Psycho, but the studio decided they wanted to go a different direction and tried to make a deal with Leonard DiCaprio instead. Stuart Townsend was originally set to play Aragorn on Lord of the Rings, but he was replaced one day before filming began by Viggo Mortenson, because the producers didn’t think he looked old enough for the role.
Eric Stoltz, Back to the Future
Eric Stoltz was originally cast in the role of Marty McFly on Back to the Future, even filming the role for about four weeks. He was replaced by Michael J. Fox because he apparently played the role too seriously.
Megan Fox, Transformers
You know what’s not a good idea? Making comments comparing Michael Bay to Adolf Hitler. Apparently, Megan Fox did just that, and was subsequently fired from the third Transformers film.
Ryan Gosling, The Lovely Bones
Ryan Gosling was originally supposed to play the dad on The Lovely Bones. In an effort to try to look older, he gained weight and grew out his beard, but that plan backfired.

Actress Samantha Morton was originally cast as the voice of the operating system in the film, “Her,” but was later replaced by Scarlett Johannson. At least there were no hard feelings.
