Teen dramas have dominated the small screen for decades now.
As such, there are many.
The Hollywood Gossip is here to run down the 13 Best Teen Dramas of all time.
Yes, we've narrowed them down to 13!
Did your favorite show make the cut?
Buffy the Vampire Slayer - The WB/UPN
It's hard to believe that a TV show based on a failed movie became such a cultural phenomenon. But Joss Whedon finely tuned the series to make sure that it resonated with teenagers, despite the supernatural elements.
Euphoria - HBO
It may only have aired one season, but it features an accurate portrayal of what it's like to live as a teenager in today's world. The cast is led by the wonderful Zendaya, who well and truly sticks the middle finger up to that Disney image she was known for.
Freaks and Geeks - NBC
It was way ahead of its time. It focused on some serious topics that had not been shown on the small screen at the time. On top of that, it had some big stars attached to it.
The Vampire Diaries - The CW
For a show that was compared to a watered-down attempt at Twilight ahead of its launch, The Vampire Diaries proved to be quite the opposite. With twists, turns, and lots of teen angst it started a franchise for The CW.
Riverdale - The CW
It's probably the most ridiculous show on this list, but it is so freaking addictive. The teenagers act like adults by being part of gangs and such, while the adults act like teenagers by bed-hopping. Pretty crazy, right?
My So-Called Life - ABC
This series may have lasted only one season, but it was praised for its portrayal of adolescence. The cast members were teenagers at the time and were struggling with the demands of schoolwork while trying to film episodic television. Claire Danes was the one who wanted out, and that's sort of why the series ended prematurely.
Gossip Girl - The CW
The first season is still one of the best freshman seasons of any drama series to date. It's a shame the writing didn't keep up the pace in later seasons. But Gossip Girl will always be remembered as the series that changed the fortunes of The CW, which was struggling to zero in on a focus as a relatively new network.
The OC - FOX
The OC was a huge hit for FOX when it premiered, thanks to the stellar writing and acting. Unpopular opinion: The final season -- sans Mischa Barton -- was the best one. Don't @ us!
Beverly Hills, 90210 - FOX
Beverly Hills, 90210 is widely considered as the best teen drama ever. It covered some serious themes and lasted a decade. It also spawned a sequel series and a weird reboot.
One Tree Hill - The WB/ The CW
One Tree Hill was never a heavy hitter in the ratings, but every single time there was a threat of cancellation, the fans made their voices heard. It's because the series was actually good!
Veronica Mars - UPN/The CW
This teen drama had something for viewers of all ages. It had a witty teenager who sleuthed her way through high school, a genuinely creepy murder mystery, and a whole lot of humor. The CW canceled it after its third season. But fans raised money to fund a big-screen movie, and Hulu later revived it as a full-fledged series.
Skins UK - E4
The original iteration of Skins is still the best. Every two seasons, the cast was refreshed to keep storylines exciting. It worked!
Smallville - WB/The CW
Smallville hit the air long before the superhero craze took over The CW. To this day, it started off as an excellent teen drama that slowly became more adult. It was almost like it was growing up with the audience.
