The Next Fake Memoir is Already In the Works
Angel at the Fence isn’t even freshly buried yet, and already there’s a new too-remarkable-to-be-true schmaltzfest that’s going to be guaranteed at least a book deal, if not a stint on Oprah.
And though this one doesn’t have quite the same pathos as a Holocaust-born love story, the British siblings Ken and Yvonne Whitty who found each other after 43-years apart, living right across the street from each other no less, is sure to appeal to that whole Chicken Soup of the Gullible Soul crowd for at least a couple more weeks until it’s also proved to be a fake. Dang it, it’s difficult not to become hard and cynical when all these book you never planned on reading turn out to be fictional instead of non-fictional.

But this one’s true, I’m pretty sure. I read about it in the papers.

I don’t know why, but I believe this story. And you know me, I can smell a skunk from 5000 miles away! This one seems okay. Look at their face in this pic in link. I think it’s real. Who writing the book and who’s publishing it? Dish. LINK?
