Girls is getting ready to say goodbye.

Sources have confirmed to E! News that the popular, controversial series will go off the air for good following Season 6.

Lena Dunham has made a career out of shamelessly talking about her body image and proudly resisting Hollywood’s demand for the ultra-skinny and svelte female body.

She is often naked on her HBO show, Girls.  But even in real life, she promotes a healthy body image.  Remember the time Lena posed in lingerie?

The stars of Girls are opening about their experiences as women. 

Recently, Jemima Kirke spoke about her abortion in a public service announcement.

Even if you watch Girls online with you finger on the pause button so you can jot down all of Hannah's profound observations about relationships, gender equality, and dessert, you probably occasionally find Lena Dunham obnoxious.

She's naked all the time for seemingly no reason; she complains constantly despite being born into a life of obscene wealth and privilege; and she once called Amanda Bynes a "genius."

2014 was a big year for Allison Williams.

She got engaged to Ricky Van Veen. She continued to star on one of cable's most critically beloved comedies. And, of course, she played Peter Pan in a live NBC musical production.

With all of the recent controversy surrounding Lena Dunham's comments about her sister, it's easy to forget that she's still the star, head writer and executive producer of a moderately popular HBO series.

But she is, and the show that's almost as divisive as its showrunner is soon to return for a new season of white people struggling to get by in spite of their dwindling trust funds.

We didn't think it was possible, but Girls is about to get even girlier. 

Turns out, Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham are longtime friends (of course) and after years of persuading, Taylor has finally agreed to do a cameo on Dunham's hit HBO series. 

Emilia Clarke may already star on one hit HBO series, but while the Game of Thrones actress changed her look and learned to be a badass mother of dragons for her role as Daenerys Targaryen, she still feels like she's better suited for Williamsburg than Westeros.

Yesterday, HBO made the unexpected announcement that Girls has been renewed for Season 4... days prior to the premiere of Season 3.

But that news has been overshadowed by what went down later at the show's Television Critics Association Press Tour Q&A with Lena Dunham, Judd Apatow and producer Jenni Konner.

HBO delivered plenty of exciting news yesterday at the Television Critics Association Press Tour.

First, it announced April 6 as the premiere date for Game of Thrones Season 4.

We're mere days away from the Girls Season 3 premiere.

But before Hannah and company return in all their angst-filled glory, the folks behind YouTube channel The Pet Collective have come out with "Cats," which is exactly what it sounds like:

The Girls will soon be back in town.

In anticipation of Lena Dunham and company returning with new episodes on January 12, HBO has released another trailer for Season 3 of this beloved comedy.
