To say Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s Vogue cover has met a mixed reception is an understatement. The latest to weigh in is supermodel Naomi Campbell, a veteran of the fashion and modeling world.

In an interview with “The Morning Show” in Australia this morning, she was asked her opinion about the cover. Her opinion is interesting, considering she herself has graced the cover of Vogue five times! Naomi responded in a “politically correct” manner without hating on the magazine and her friend, Anna Wintour, but still managed to share her distaste.

“I do not want to comment,” the Face judge said to hosts Larry Emdur and Kylie Gillies, after they had asked about the Kimye cover. Naomi then briefly paused and then burst out into laughter.

When Kylie Gillies pressed for more, Naomi said, “Because I’m a fashion model and I’ve been working for 28 years. And when you get a Vogue cover, it’s a build in your career. It’s a stepping stone to achieve that. I’m a fashion model, so, what more can I say?”

Gillies asked, “So you think Kim and Kanye haven’t earned the right to be on the cover of Vogue?”

Campbell replied, “Those are your words, I’m being politically correct. That’s Anna Wintour’s choice to put them on the cover of her magazine, who’s to question it?”

The Vogue editor sounded off herself, in an editor’s letter in the April issue of Vogue. She wrote, “As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancee on Vogue‘s cover. He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true.”

I’ll be honest, I kind of love the cover and the photos that have leaked so far. I’ll be reading the article!
