Former Dancing with the Stars professional dancer Julianne Hough sat down for a candid interview with Parade magazine about her career and her relationship with American Idol host boyfriend Ryan Seacrest.

Hough admits that their biggest challenge as a couple is definitely the fact that they are off in opposite directions most of the time.

So how do they make it work? She reveals, “It’s a hard thing to do, especially when you’re so caught up in your work and bettering yourself, juggling a career and a relationship. I think at the end of the day you have to find a balance with what’s really important.”

The gorgeous couple have been together since 2010. They make sure to make time for getaways, “I’m so lucky that I have a great relationship. I’m very blessed and I don’t take anything for granted. I think if you alienate people and just focus on your work then it just becomes lonely and it’s not fun anymore.”

Hough is starring in the upcoming musical adaption of Rock of Ages with Tom Cruise. On the question of dealing with fame and paparazzi, she said, “I don’t think you can ever get used to it. It’s definitely strange. You have to remember where you came from, and I definitely have enough brothers and sisters to kick me in the butt whenever I get out of line.”

Besides his radio jock and E! reality show producer gigs, Seacrest is busy taping the latest season of American Idol.

Does Julianne tune in to see her boyfriend? She laughs, “Heck yes, It is so good. I love this season!”
