Sad news — Rashad Harden, known as DJ Rashad, was found dead in his apartment Saturday afternoon.
The 34 year old was found unresponsive by a friend in his Chicago apartment. He was pronounced dead shortly after. No autopsy results yet, but drugs and drug paraphernalia were found near his body. No word on what the drugs were, but Rashad’s dad, Anthony Harden, said he has a prescription for Xanax.
Chance the Rapper posted to his Twitter, “Music lost a legend today. And he was my friend. Love you DJ Rashad. RIP.”
Harden, who had been performing since childhood, was expected to have a career breakout this year, with club dates scheduled all over the world.
Rashad leaves behind a 9 year old son.
