Kathy Griffin once again rang in the New Year co-hosting CNN’s New Year’s Eve special with Anderson Cooper.

The comedienne shocked Cooper by stripping down to her bra and panties as the live camera cut away to shots of the crowd and the Swarovski crystal ball in Times Square.

“Oh my lord…what…are you kidding me? Are you freaking kidding me?” Cooper giggled uncomfortably when he turned around and saw Griffin standing in her underwear.

“You got a rockin’ body, by the way,” Cooper told his co-host after holding up a sign that read, “No nudity.”

“This is where you have to vamp and cover,” Griffin told Cooper.

“I would like to cover you up very much,” he responded.

“You’re a big square who won’t let me have any fun,” Griffin retorts. “Your turn,” she taunted.

2011 was the third year Griffin has co-hosted CNN’s New Year’s Eve special with Cooper. She was rumored to be banned from future CNN broadcasts after dropping the F-bomb on 2009’s NYE broadcast, however, she hosted the following year, and tried to undress Cooper on air.

“Kathy Griffin scares me,” Cooper said of his NYE co-host prior to the 2011 broadcast. “I’ve said this often to CNN management directly and through my attorneys,” He said. “She continues to appear by my side on New Year’s Eve, so clearly no one is listening to me”

“Here’s the deal,” Griffin said in a recent interview. “I do New Year’s Eve with Anderson. I say something that embarrasses them. They try to get me to apologize. I don’t. They make an apology for themselves — sometimes lawyers are called, sometimes they’re not. A lot of time passes and they don’t want to re-hire me, but then as it gets closer to New Year’s Eve, they think “Well, I guess people do tune in so…”
