Heidi Montag has managed to infuriate both of her parents with her November 20th elopement in Cabo San Lucas. She and Spencer Pratt announced this nuptials to the rest of the world without bothering to check in with family. To borrow a phrase from Jen Aniston…..’uncool’.
When Montag’s father was questioned after the initial news broke, he said “I would be upset if she got married and didn’t invite me!” When he was assured by a People magazine reporter that the story was factual he softened his stance and remarked, “Then we just have to have another wedding here.”
In an exclusive interview with US Weekly, Heidi’s mother Darlene Egelhoff was not nearly as understanding as her ex-husband and candidly shared her ill feelings toward her daughter’s new husband. She said, “Spencer is manipulative and seems to have power over Heidi. He has tried to cut everyone out of her life.”
Egelhoff, 46, believes that it is the biggest mistake that Heidi has ever made. She was especially hurt that her daughter blew off Thanksgiving and remained in Mexico with her new husband. Her mother said, “I give the marriage six months tops.”
US Weekly managed to get a response from the newlyweds, who are now back in L.A. Heidi said that she didn’t want her mom present because she was “starting so much drama.” She elaborated by saying, “she should be happy I found someone I love. Some people go their entire life without finding that.”
Spencer, who calls Egelhoff “Stalker Mom”, said, “I think her mom needs to take a real fat chill pill and be happy for her daughter.”
Is it possible that Heidi’s mom is the female equivalent of Michael Lohan? We’re just saying….
