Singer Gavin DeGraw was assaulted early Monday in N.Y. City for no apparent reason, and taken by ambulance to the emergency room as a result.
The “I Don’t Want to Be” and “Not Over You” singer was in stable condition at Bellevue Hospital with a broken nose and cuts to his face, police say.
The assault took place at about 4:30 a.m. in Manhattan.
According to The New York Post, the 34-year-old was out with friends when he was attacked by a “pack of thugs” on the street for reasons unknown.
Gavin DeGraw was then hit by a taxi as he stumbled away.
His reps say in a statement: “Gavin DeGraw was assaulted … and was taken to the emergency room at Bellevue Hospital by ambulance. [Gavin] is currently under observation. We have no additional information at this time.”
McGraw has a new album due out in September and has been on tour with Train and Maroon 5 in recent months. We wish him a fast recovery.
