Earlier this month, Meghan Markle got candid in a powerful interview after a reporter finally asked her if she is okay.
That moment, the way that her eyes watered, has haunted many of us. British tabloids are so vicious to her.
Samantha Grant, Meghan's evil half-sister, feels differently. She says that Meghan has no right to complain
On Thursday, Meghan's most nightmarish relative spoke to Inside Edition about the Duchess' tearful interview.
"I think it is really ludicrous that someone who is escorted around the world," Samantha Grant begins.
She continues: "by millions of dollars worth of security, on private jets, as a millionaire, could ever complain about anything."
Very reasonable complaints about the way that the wealthiest people hoard money while harming the rest of us are very in vogue at the moment.
But that doesn't mean that a rich and famous person cannot have serious problems or be miserable. It just means that they're not poor.
Samantha continues to share her horrible thoughts on Meghan's suffering.
She complains: "For her to have the audacity to say something like, ‘It is nice to know if someone wants to know if I am OK.’"
Most people consider it common courtesy to ask if someone is okay, particularly if they are the target of a massive, long-term smear campaign.
Samantha remarks: "I thought, ‘Wow, did you ever ask dad if he was OK during two heart attacks?’"
Probably not, considering that Thomas Markle Sr had made it impossible for her to speak to him without him blabbing about it in the media.
Notorious mean person Samantha Grant continues, insisting that she's not actually being cruel to Meghan by saying cruel things about her.
She claims that "telling the truth is not being mean.”
Samantha goes on to say that Meghan “knew exactly what she was doing" when she married Prince Harry.
To hear Samantha tell it, Meghan got just what she “wanted."
Yes and no. Meghan married for love and has a wonderful son. She also became the favorite target of British tabloids.
Samantha is, as always, either oblivious to her sister's suffering or merely taking delight in it.
Either way, she's exploiting Meghan's unhappiness for yet another interview. That seems to run in the family on their father's side.
As Samantha surely knows, since she's been helping them for years, British tabloids have been deeply vicious to Meghan.
We can pretend that it's because she's "new" or "American" or "just not royal material" like her critics claim, but we all know that race is a factor.
Nasty headlines about Meghan sell to racists, so the British press has become increasingly cruel over time to keep giving readers what they want.
Meghan's plight has been obvious. Other famous women, from Jameela Jamil to Hillary Clinton, have spoken out in her defense.
It's clear that Meghan has done nothing wrong, yet the British press has decided that she is to blame for anything that they imagine.
To be clear, this is not the only issue that British tabloids have.
They are infamous on a global scale for being racist and transphobic and for spreading misinformation about minority religions.
It is our sincere hope that Meghan's haters will reflect upon how she is a real person with real feelings.
We doubt that Samantha will ever do so, however.
