Sid Haig, a veteran actor likely best known for his role in Rob Zombie’s House of 1000 Corpses, died on Saturday after being involved in sort sort of accident.
He was 80 years old.
The very sad news was shared online by Sid’s wife, Suzie, who wrote the following as confirmation:
"On Saturday, September 21, 2019, my light, my heart, my true love, my King, the other half of my soul, Sidney, passed from this realm on to the next…
"He has returned to the Universe, a shining star in her heavens. He was my angel, my husband, my best friend and always will be.
"He adored his family, his friends and his fans. This came as a shock to all of us. We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected."
The actor had recently been hospitalized and transferred to the ICU after he was involved, as mentioned above, in a mysterious account.
We mostly know this based on photos shared to his Instagran page, on which Suzie started to ask for prayers back on September 6.
The type of accident remains unknown at this time, although we know it took place at his home.
"We, as a family, are asking that our privacy and time to mourn be respected," Suzie concluded in the following post.
"Sidney Eddie Mosesian. 7/14/39 – 9/21/19. Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend. Goodnight, my love. We will find each other again, next time. I love you."
Haig has starred as the patriarch of the Firefly family in House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects" and most recently, 3 From Hell, which just hit theaters last week.
Aside from acting in Zombie’s aforementioned movies, Haig enjoyed roles in such other horror films over his 50-plus-year career as Bone Tomahawk, Hatchet III, The Lords of Salem, Devil in My Ride, Night of the Living Dead 3D."
Then there was Haig’s television resume.
You may recognize him from MacGyver, The Fall Guy, Jason of Star Command, Mission: Impossible, Get Smart, Gunsmoke, Star Trek, The Six Million Dollar Man… or countless other programs.
Overall, Haig had a whopping 149 credits to his name.
Haig is survived by his wife.
We send our condolences to his friends, family members and loved ones.
May he rest in peace.
