Tanner Tolbert just learned the hard, and possibly very embarrassing, way:

Do NOT mess with Demi Burnett.

On Tuesday night’s episode of Bachelor in Paradise, Demi cozied up to Derek Peth… despite the fact that she had a woman (yes, a woman!) back at home who she had gotten very close to prior to leaving for Mexico.

Demi was very torn over the situation, enjoying her time with Derek on one hand — while also missing this woman and thinking about her often on the other hand.

Equipped with just this basic information, Tolbert Tweeted a comparison of Burnett and Jed Wyatt in response to the episode.

He figured:

Hey! Wyatt left a girlfriend at home to date Hannah Brown on The Bachelorette and now Demi has done the same to try and findlove in Paradise… so there you go!

(Editor’s Note: Hannah learned that Wyatt had kept this woman a secret from her two days after he proposed on the Season 15 finale, immediately dumping him once the truth came out.)

Here’s the major difference between Demi and Jed, however:

Demi was open and honest with Derek. She told him all about this woman back at home long before anything got serious between the Paradise co-stars.

Conversely, Wyatt GOT ENGAGED TO BROWN AND NEVER, EVER REVEALED THE TRUTH. She had to read about it online.

After fans jumped down Tanner’s throat for his misguided comparison, Tolbert deleted the jab.

But not before Demi saw it and leaped all over him for issuing it in the first place.

"F-ck off," Burnett fired back at Wyatt, prior to taking things up a few notches and going all NSFW on Twitter by adding:

"Maybe I can teach you a thing or two about going down on your wife."

Well… okay then!

Burnett also took Tolbert to task for talking from a place of ignorance:

"You are speaking on something you HEARD about as if it is a fact. I was 100% honest and upfront the entire time. You are a grown ass man tweeting about rumors."

Brown, meanwhile, also chimed in on this feud.

And you can guess which side she’s on, right?

Jed is the lying ex who Brown broke up with, while Demi is a very close acquaintance. So…

"One is my best friend, one is my ex-fiancé….I can tell you first hand, not the same,” the former Bachelorette Tweeted on Wednesday.

For his part, Tolbert didn’t fully concede that he lost this social media battle.

But he didn’t try to extend it, either, concluding his role in the beef with a sarcastic Tweet that reads:

“Gotcha… I must have dreamt it all up then… my bad."

That final part is accurate at least. This was definitely all Tanner’s bad.
