Wendy Williams has spent many years laughing at the problems of other celebrities.
These days, however, the talk show host can't help but cry over her very own.
Not that we blame her. Not one bit.
The star has been living through a marital and familial nightmare over the past few months, and it's all been playing out directly in front of the entire world.
As you very likely know by now, Wendy's awful husband, Kevin Hunter, actually welcomed a baby with his long-time mistress this spring.
This, at last, became the final straw for Williams, who filed for divorce a short while later and also fired Hunter as a producer on her morning talk show.
Williams has vaguely addressed the scandal and the divorce on air, but she's mostly just cracked a few jokes at her own expense.
Until this weekend, that is.
When she finally cracked under all the pressure of the spotlight.
On Sunday, Williams was approached by the paparazzi in Los Angeles and asked the incident in late May in which her estranged husband and teenage son actually got into a fight.
The loved ones reportedly got into it because Hunter wanted his son to break out of his mother's shadow -- while the son screamed at his dad for demanding child support from Williams.
In the end, the son was arrested for assault -- and it's understandably a sensitive topic for Williams to discuss.
“Young Kevin and I are fine,” she said, while waiting in the car for food at Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles with a male companion this weekend, adding:
“Stuff happens in life. Stuff happens and it’s OK."
Williams has allegedly moved on with a sexy new man, and she's trying to take solace in this romance.
But it's not easy; not when her son was just arrested for punching his dad.
“I’ve still got a very full life that I really adore,” Williams continued, prior to tearing up when speaking to the aforementioned paparazzi. “Please don’t make me cry."
We don't like Wendy's on-air persona very much.
But even our heart has been breaking for her throughout this ordeal.
Breaking down completely, Williams turned to a friend on the street to apologize before continuing on Sunday.
“I didn’t plan on this, but it is what it is,” she said, seemingly referring to her family drama. “I have got to go eat my food with potato salad and I’ve got to get on the plane in the morning, but I have a very full life.
"I would ask you to respect our privacy, but I don’t respect people’s privacy -- that’s why I do the hot topics. But all three of us are doing fine."
Gotta appreciate that level of self-awareness, right?
To conclude this brief interview, Williams was asked if she, Kevun Hunter and Kevin Hunter Jr. would ever be seen in the same place again.
Of course you will,” she replied, tears still streaming down her face.
“Kevin’s got to graduate from college, he’s going into a sophomore year. He’s going to get married or whatever. Everyone’s gotta grow up."
