It's quite the Hollywood trend to get matching tattoos with your significant other.
But unlike most couples who get tatted-up months before a break-up, Chrissy Teigen and John Legend are setting a fine example on how to save your permanent marks for (a lasting) marriage.
If you are considering getting inked up with your boo, do yourselves a favor and follow the lead of entertainment's most beloved couple.
I mean, have they ever led us astray before?
Of course not. And the couple just one-upped themselves -- which we didn't think possible -- after getting matching tattoos inspired by their kids (and each other, obviously).
John and Chrissy took to Instagram on Thursday to show off their new matching tats which is an adorable gesture to honor their family of four.
"Hey guys please don't talk to us unless u have tattoos," Teigen joked.
"We are a cool tattoo family now and we only want to talk to other tattoo families (srry if this seems harsh)."
The duo got inked up on their inner arms in a delicate and thin cursive writing, which resembled a heartbeat line for their 3-year-old daughter Luna and 10-month-old son Miles.
Teigen's reads, "John Luna Miles," while Legend's says, "Chrissy Luna Miles."
How simple and cute is that?
See, if only Pete Davidson could've learned a thing or two from the Legend parents, maybe he would've decided against the bunny-eared mask tattoo behind his ear.
His bold choice was reminiscent of the mask that Ariana Grande wears on the cover of her Dangerous Woman album, and that was just one of the many tattoos this short-lived couple endured together.
As for Chrissy and John, Los Angeles tattoo artist Winter Stone designed their permanent artwork.
He is famously known for his precise single needle tattoos and for his previous work on celebs such as Lady Gaga, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus, Emma Roberts, and Joe Jonas and fiance Sophie Turner, according to E! News.
"Thank you thank you @winterstone," Teigen wrote.
"You are not only incredibly talented but you are very kind and delightful and welcome over any time!!"
"@chrissyteigen @johnlegend had so much tattooing you both!" the artist commented back.
"What an amazing loving couple, mom and dad you are! #tattoopeople #delicatelysharp."
In addition to the family tribute tat, Chrissy was apparently feeling a little young wild and free and decided to get her own tiny heart tattoo on her index finger.
Teigen and Legend later jokingly promoted a mock reality show titled Legends of Ink where they explain how cool they are and why everyone should be tatted up like them.
"We love getting tatted, we love it and you'll love it too... we're wild, were crazy, but we don't give a ----" Chrissy announced in her fake TV voice.
"I love our new TLC show!" John playfully joked in the comment section.
...Ok but like honestly we would all watch that religiously.
This fresh tatted couple, who have been married since 2013, is once again achieving major #RelationshipGoals!
I mean can you really think of another pair cooler than them?! I'll wait.
