Jeff Lewis' love life is in the demolition phase.
But, that doesn't mean something beautiful won't come out on the other side.
The Flipping Out star confirmed that he and Gage Edward, his life partner of a decade and series costar, have separated.
"This has been a long time coming," shared Lewis on his SiriusXM radio show, Jeff Lewis Live, reported by People.
He also revealed that Gage moved out of their LA home they shared with their two-year-old daughter, Monroe-whom they welcomed via surrogate in 2016 and into a hotel.
"We were in separate rooms a significant portion of last year, so it was kind of like a roommate situation," explained Lewis.
Or rather a "friends with benefits" situation.
"We would still hook up, inconsistently," Jeff explained to Bravo. "I was still encouraged, like, 'There's still something here... he's still interested in me...But there was a real lack of intimacy because he wasn't in my room."
"So I actually felt very lonely and sad and disappointed."
The breaking point came when Gage allegedly told Jeff that their physical relationship was "confusing."
The couple tried to work things out, but their communication failed. After a disastrous dinner date, the two finally called it quits.
Jeff also added that he now feels like a single dad since Monroe is living with only him. And when a caller asked about custody over their daughter, Lewis said: "I don't even want to go there."
But a source confirms that it is "just a temporary break" and that the ex-lovers are still trying to fix their relationship.
It's no doubt the couple has had a tough year.
Not only because of their crumbling relationship but due to a legal battle with their surrogate (who claims they filmed her giving birth without her permission) and a feud between Lewis and ex-costar Jenni Pulos, which will likely lead to the cancellation of their home design show, after 11 successful seasons.
While things may be rocky in the workplace and at their (divided) home, both Gage and Jeff are devoted to their daughter, says another source according to People.
"They've always kept any of the trouble that was going on between them away from her. She's their world," shares the source.
Throughout his radio show, Lewis tried his best to stay positive. "Last year was hell, but I remember nine pretty solid years."
But that doesn't mean their time has officially stopped, yet.
Jeff's therapist recommended that if the couple were to get back together one day, then they should basically start their relationship over from scratch.
"If this happens, I'm kind of excited about this courting process," Jeff said.
Even though Jeff took 100% responsibility for the parting, saying "I truly feel like I have failed you. I have failed my child and I have failed my family," we like to believe the couples still got some love left to give.
And can flip this family right around into something new and incredible!
