Last week, we reported on rumors that George and Amal Clooney are separated and headed for a messy divorce.
Of course, we suppose that's a bit redundant, as any divorce with half a billion in assets on the line is bound to be a little messy.
Anyway, details are scarce at the moment (the Clooneys are famously tight-lipped about their personal lives), but according to a scathing report from Radar Online the situation is bad.
And it's all George's fault.
The site reports that George recently purchased some new property on the Italian Island of Sardinia -- and Amal immediately escaped there with the kids.
“He wanted them to enjoy the new property together, but after an explosive argument she ran off there with Alexander and Ella," an insider claims.
"She’s told him if he comes, he’ll have to stay in the guest house!”
So what the hell happened that left Amal running for safety in the Mediterranean?
Well, there are no allegations of cheating or abuse.
Apparently, George just continued living his free-wheeling carefree lifestyle, and Amal understandably took issue with that.
After all, George is now a married father of two, and he's freakin' 57 years old.
Not unreasonable for Amal to expect he'd be spending most weekends on his own and not jetting off to Bali with the wolf pack.
"Remorseful George is telling Amal he will do whatever his wife wants as long as she comes home," says the source.
"He will change his ways and stop driving her up a wall."
Specifically, George has promised to be more involved in the day-to-day, nuts-and-bolts aspects of parenting.
"He has let her know in no uncertain terms that he will 'toe the line' and be more involved," the insider claims.
"He will do whatever it takes to make her happy."
Yeah, with a reported $500 million on the line (most it earned by George), it's probably a good idea for the actor stop living like a bachelor.
Oh, plus there's the whole business of him losing his gorgeous, brilliant wife and two adorable children.
