‘Tis the season to be VERY merry if you’re Jamie Otis and Doug Hehner.
On the latest edition of their podcast, the former Married at First Sight couple announced that they’ll soon be adding another limb to their family tree.
Yup: Otis is pregnant!!!!!!!!!!!
"We are expanding the family! Jamie and I are now pregnant and we’re going to be parents of two," Doug told listeners this week, adding in excitement:
"Something we’ve been trying for a little while now has finally come to fruition and I can’t wait to meet our little baby boy."
Jamie jumped in at this point and said that Doug hopes it’s a boy — so we can’t say for certain whether the twosome has learned the gender just yet.
Otis also mocked her husband a bit by adding:
"I love that you said Jamie and Doug are pregnant. I’m pretty sure there’s only one of us pregnant."
The pair is already parents to 16-month-old daughter, Henley Grace.
Back in July of 2016. they went public with the horrific news that Otis had suffered a miscarriage.
“Our Baby Hehner was just too beautiful for earth," Otis said at the time, adding:
"I love him so much – ALWAYS will – and can’t wait to meet him in heaven one day. Please pray for us."
Otis and Hehner named this lost child Johnathan and honored him a year after his death by planting a tree in his honor.
"I will forever be thankful & I’ll never forget the countless Frans [friends and fans] – and even strangers – who reached out to me to offer love & support," Jamie wrote in July of 2017.
It was heartbreaking stuff, and Johnathan will never be replaced of course, but thankfully Jamie and Doug have other blessings to now be thankful for.
In April of this year, they told followers that they were trying for another child.
“Officially trying for baby number✌?!!!??” the Married at First Sight star wrote on Instagram along with a family picture of herself, Hehner and their daughter.
Perhaps opening up too much, the reality star explained that the couple wasn’t able to have intercourse for a long time after Otis gave birth to Henley last August.
"This is TMI, but *it* hurt so bad that it wasn’t even physically possible to do *it,*” shared Otis, keeping fans very much updated by explaining this spring:
“But we have finally been able to be intimate!!! …it’s only taken 8 months for *it* to stop hurting. (This is the kinda stuff no one talks about so I had no idea how bad it’d be!!) …
"We’re finally working on makin’ Gracie a little sibling to play with."
Otis and Hehner were pair up on Married at First Sight in 2014.
The two got married on the series and started to fall in love months later.
One year later, to make it even more official, they renewed their vows and pledged to spend eternity together. No matter what.
“Our journey began a year ago when we said ‘I do’ as strangers at the altar,” Jamie said to Doug, reading her vows aloud.
“What I didn’t know then was that I just met the most amazing, kind, patient and handsome man.”
