It’s a Christmas miracle, folks.
Jon Gosselin really does appear to be a solid and responsible father.
We’ve been saying this for several weeks now, but the point was driven home especially hard yesterday by the former TLC star, as he shared the following photo of him and his family on Christmas:
"Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from our family to yours!!!" penned Jon as a caption.
The image is notable, of course, because it features Gosselin, his girlfriend, Colleen Conrad, her kids, Jesse and Jordan… and both Hannah and Collin.
The latter 14-year olds spent a bulk of their childhood estranged from their father, who divorced Kate Gosselin way back in 2009 after about a decade of marriage.
Many chapters of this marriage were documented on the program Jon and Kate Plus 8, which depicted life for the couple as parents of twins Mady and Cara — along with sextuplets: Aaden, Collin, Joel, Alexis, Hannah and Leah.
Ever since the couple split, Kate had maintained custody of all these kids.
Until just a few months ago.
For most of 2018, Hannah has been living with her father and posing for many happy photos by his side.
Jon then shocked followers by asking a judge to grant him custody of Collin as well — and actually won this case after Kate failed to show up in court for a hearing.
The young teenager had spent the last couple years at a facility for kids with special needs.
Howwver, he now appears to have completed this stint and will be residing with his dad for the foreseeable future.
"He is coming home to our house, and he’s going to enjoy the holiday with us, and go to school, and be with his sister, Hannah," Jon told Entertainment Tonight earlier this month.
Based on the first photo posted to this page, that appears to be exactly what has transpired.
"He’s really excited and we’re really excited to have him home for the holidays. And to enjoy the rest of his childhood," Jon added in this same interview.
For her part, Kate has been unusually quiet for most of the past year or so.
We’re actually getting a little bit concerned, considering how vocal she has been in the past about both loving her children and hating her ex-husband.
But Gosselin did not share any holiday photos with her kids on Instagram.
She hasn’t shared any photos of her kids at all since wishing Mady and Cara a happy birthday on October 8.
And, prior to that, the last time she posted a picture of her sons and daughters was way back in August.
It’s very unlike Kate to go radio silent in this manner. We hope she’s alright.
Jon, meanwhile, told Us Weekly on December 11 that he hasn’t spent time with ALL his kids in over a year.
“It was just volatile and a lot going on. It was just not a good time," he told the tabloid, opening up further as follows:
"Like, forced custody and all that kind of stuff.
"[Leah, Alexis, Joel and Aaden] aren’t talking to me, but they’re talking to Hannah. I don’t get involved now … it’s what the kids want to do.
"If they don’t want to talk to me, that’s fine, as long as they keep up with their sibling connections.
"Eventually, if they come around and they want to talk to me, that’s cool.”
