From the moment we learned that Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright were dating, the Vanderpump pair didn't seem to be very long for this world.
Against all odds, however, the couple not only be SUR-vived, but thrived.
Not only have Taylor and Cartwright talked marriage, they've taken the biggest step that two reality stars can take together:
Yes, a Jax and Brittany spinoff is on its way, with a series about the couple's time in her native Kentucky debuting on Bravo in August.
But according to insiders, the couple has hit a rough patch from which they may have difficulty recovering.
Radar Online is reporting today that Jax and Brittany are having "relationship problems" that will be exposed both in their spinoff and on the the sixth season of Vanderpump Rules, which is currently filming.
While the show was planned as a sort of comedic, Green Acres-like fish-out-of-water tale, insiders say it took on a more serious tone than originally planned, due to strife between Jax and Brittany.
Problems reportedly ranged from Jax's reluctance to propose to his difficulty getting along with Brittany's rural, conservative family.
“To me, Jax is the L.A. guy that looks like Tarzan and plays like Jane,” Cartwright's father comments in a preview from the series.
“It’s becoming one of my favorite things to see his manly toughness be challenged.”
Brittany's family has reportedly grown resentful that Jax convinced her to move to LA to be with him, but has thus far refused to pop the question.
And the pressure has reportedly deepened the divide between Taylor and Cartwright.
If Jax and Brittany do decide to go their separate ways, it'll be the second rumored Vanderpump breakup this week.
As we reported on Wednesday, rumors that Tom Schwartz and Katie Maloney are headed for divorce have persisted despite denials from Maloney's mother.
Interestingly, those rumors originated online as a result of a criptic tweet posted - you guessed it! - by Mr. Jax Taylor.
