Will the Lauritas and the Giudices ever get along? That issue was addressed on The Real Housewives of New Jersey Season 7 Episode 5.
And every episode, if we're being perfectly honest here.
This was the confrontation we were waiting a lifetime for.
Or at least a year or two. As soon as Danbury's finest was released from lockup, there was no question who her main adversary would be.
A true Clash of the Franklin Lakes Titans. For all time.
If you watch The Real Housewives of New Jersey online, you will not be surprised to hear how this long-awaited reunion turned out.
The long-awaited face-to-face sit-down between Teresa Giudice and Jacqueline Laurita devolved into a shouting match almost immediately.
Like, before Joe even had a chance to sit down. So much for that olive branch Teresa long spoke about but never actually got to offer.
These two can't let go of the past even a little bit, as evidenced by Tre bringing up that night when she felt attacked on Jacque's deck.
The absolute funniest (or most maddening, depending on your POV) part is how Tre shuts down others trying to defend their opinions.
"I don't want to rehash the past," she said, as if Laurita were the one and only person trying to dredge up this stuff and derail the peace.
Pretty amazing, really.
We don't doubt that Giudice would love some sort of peace accord to be struck, it's just hard when you are willing to concede nothing.
Typically, a little humility and contrition go a long way when one is trying to come to an agreement and mutually end an ongoing feud.
Just food for thought.
Later, Teresa got in another nice dig at Jacqueline by revealing that her brother, Joe Gorga, told her not to trust her friend years ago.
Laurita then picked up her phone to call that bluff and dial up Joe, demanding to know the truth about what he said about her and when.
"Who the hell does something like this? That's my brother," Teresa said, accusing Jacqueline of having legal issues of her own (obviously).
Laurita's profound but simple reply?
That at least she never filed a fraudulent bankruptcy, nor was she convicted and sentenced to prison. Pretty much an air-tight comeback.
"I didn't file fraudulent things," Teresa said, whatever that means, before insisting, once again, that she just wants to put this to bed.
"God bless you. I want peace," she said.
What she really wants, in our view, is peace ... after Laurita admits she's wrong and bows down to the queen of the Garden State forever.
Jacqueline, however, had the last laugh this time - if only because she is free to stay out as late as she wants while Teresa had to leave.
"She has a curfew, anyway," she said.
