Amy Schumer has been forced to speak out after a contributor on her Comedy Central series went on a Twitter tirade against rape accusers.

No, not rapists. Against rape accusers.

The controversy got started on August 13 when a New York-based Upright Citizens Brigade comedian named Aaron Glaser was accused of sexual assault against numerous women.

Based on a Facebook post at the time, penned by a private group of female comedians, a user wrote the following:

"Posting this on behalf on a woman in the community, who would like to remain anonymous, but wants to warn other women, and let other women who may have raped by [Aaron Glaser] know that they’re not alone."

An internal investigation by Upright Citizens Brigade followed and Glaser was subsequently banned from the theater.

A day later, Kurt Metzger went on a Twitter tirade, clearly pissed off that a friend was essentially convicted without, he believes, sufficient evidence.

“Guys I have just heard some disturbing news, this guy Jiff Dilfyberg is a rapist!” Metzger wrote on Facebook, adding of this fictituous comparison:

“I know because women said it and that’s all I need! Never you mind who they are. They are women! ALL women are as reliable as my bible! A book that, much like a women, is incapable of lying!”

The bitter sarcasm most certainly did not end there.

The 39-year-old continued by mocking the report that many victims of rape do not go to the police.

You think I would dare ask my God, Lord Jesus Christ the Nazarene to provide any “details” or “evidence” of any kind before I believe in him? Or a woman? No, because that be that would be like hammering the nails into Jesus My Lord’s feet!

Or re-raping the victim’s good hole!!! Or asking for proof in a murder trial.

Anyway Jiff Dilfyberg is dangerous! So fucking dangerous that we can’t go to the police to report his many rapes!

That would just be tooooo rapey, and the women are too brave for that. If we ask them to even merely also post a vague account of what happened before asking us to believe that would like re-raping their rape!

These women are as BRAVE as they are sore!

And Metzger STILL didn’t stop there.

On Monday and Tuesday, he continued his lewd criticism of women who (in his mind) cry rape.

This time, he centered his mean-spirited complaints on the case at hand.

At one point, he actually wrote that men being falsely accused of rape is “WORSE than actual rape.”

We’ll just go ahead and list a few of his other Tweets, letting them speak for themselves and letting you form your own opinion:

Internal fucking rape investigation at UCB? What are they, the Catholic church??? I’m wrong to say fucking cops should be involved first?

Ummm…. no. They really are not.

Could have a reasonable, educated argument about the dangers of accusing someone of rape and how it’s important for institutions to gather as many facts as possible before making a decision?

Probably, yes. One could do this.

What Metzger did instead was prove to the world that he some serious, deep-seated issues when it comes to the opposite sex.

On Wednesday afternoon, Amy Schumer posted a statement to Twitter addressing Metzger’s comments.

"I am so saddened and disappointed in Kurt Metzger. He is my friend and a great writer and I couldn’t be more against his recent actions," she wrote."

Why hasn’t she fired him? Because he doesn’t directly work for her show, Schumer added.

"Kurt does not work for me. He is not a writer on my show. Please stop asking me about it. His words are not mine."

We’ll let you know if any professional action is taken against Metzger by Comedy Central or any employer of his.

And we’ll also let you know all the reasons why we love Amy Schumer, in case you were curious:
