A new report from Radar Online claims that Tom Cruise’s mother, Mary Lee South, has not been seen since April.
Many are now speculating that the 78-year-old has died and that Cruise kept her passing a secret.
South was last seen on April 5, when she attended an Easter brunch at the Celebrity Centre of Scientology in Los Angeles.
Shortly thereafter, she moved from Cruise’s home into an assisted living facility less than one mile away from the notorious Scientology headquarters.
Her apartment at the facility is now vacant, and South’s whereabouts are currently unknown.
Cruise’s strange relationships with his family members made headlines recently, as several media outlets claimed that he went two years without seeing Suri – his 9-year-old daughter with ex-wife Katie Holmes.
This revelation came on the heels of a tidal wave of bad publicity for Cruise, spurred by the acclaimed Scientology documentary Going Clear.
The doc claims that so-called "suppressive persons" who are critical of Scientology (such as Cruise’s ex-wives and possible even his children) are cut off without exception.
Was Cruise’s mother removed from his home for daring to speak out about his religious beliefs? Or has she passed away and the actor has chosen to keep her death under wraps?
Given the amount of media attention focused on Cruise these days, we don’t imagine the truth will stay buried for long.
