Ever since Caitlyn Jenner’s reality show I Am Cait debuted to disappointing ratings last month, the show and its star have been fighting valiantly to avoid the embarrassment of cancelation.
It now looks as though E! will allow Cait and company to finish out their first season, but it seems there’s little chance of the show returning for a second go-round.
After weeks of plummeting ratings, I Am Cait experienced a slight uptick last week – only to reach an all-time low for its most recent installment.

According to numbers released today, I Am Cait Season 1 Episode 5 reached just 1.06 million viewers.
To put that in perspective, the "All About Bruce" episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians was watched by nearly 8 million viewers.
Insiders say the disappointing I Am Cait ratings have been an embarrassment for Caitlyn, as not only does it seem that public interest in the former Olympian is waning, she also feels that she’s officially lost to Kris Jenner.
Sadly, her embarrassment doesn’t end there.
The folks over at Radar Online compared Cait’s numbers to those of her Sunday night competition, and the results are discouraging, to say the least.
For instance, Guy Fieri’s game show Guy’s grocery Games – considered something of a throwaway timeslot-filler for the Food Network – received nearly half a million more viewers than I Am Cait.
Yes, when you’re losing to Guy Fieri, it’s pretty much officially time to hang it up.
