A terrifying moment was caught on camera this morning when a gunman opened fire on a WDBJ news crew in Roanoke, Virginia.

Reports now indicate that the attack claimed the lives of on-air reporter Alison Parker, 24, and photographer Adam Ward, 27.

Vicki Gardner, a water park representative who was being interviewed live on camera, was shot in the back and is currently undergoing surgery.

Please be warned that the footage below may be highly disturbing to some viewers:

Sources say Parker was engaged to Chris Hurst, a co-anchor at WDBJ. Ward was engaged to Melissa Ott, who was reportedly producing the segment that was being filmed at the time of the shooting.

The gunman escaped the scene, and local police have the entire surrounding area – which includes a school – on lockdown.

The shooter can briefly be seen in the chilling final image captured by Ward’s camera:

In a sad twist, insiders revealed moments ago that Ward and Ott were planning to relocate to Charlotte, and today was to be their final day at WDBJ.

It is not known at this time if there are any victims other than the three that have already been reported.

Story developing.
