The Biggest Loser is losing more than weight.  It is also losing its longtime host Alison Sweeney.

Sweeney joined the show in Season 4, and after eight years as the show’s host, Sweeney has decided to part ways with the reality show.

"After an incredible run together, Alison Sweeney will not be returning as host of The Biggest Loser next season," the show said in a statement to Us Weekly on Tuesday, August 25.

Sweeney who is also known for her role on The Days of Our Lives, debuted on the reality weight loss show in 2007.

The 38-year-old actress and host replaced Caroline Rhea, who hosted The Biggest Loser during the first three seasons from 2004-2006.

Sweeney has had a productive run on the reality show.  Since joining the NBC series, she has hosted 13 seasons, including The Biggest Loser: Couples, The Biggest Loser: Families, The Biggest Loser: Battle of the Ages, and The Biggest Loser: No Excuses. Her most recent stint as host was during Season 16’s The Biggest Loser: Glory Days.

This fall, Season 17 is scheduled to begin filming. A replacement for Sweeney has not been announced.

In January 2014, Alison Sweeney confirmed her Days of Our Lives Exit.  She was on the show for 21 years.

Without Days of Our Lives and The Biggest Loser, we wonder what is next for Alison?!
