Taylor Swift took a break from surprising fans on tour with awesome musical guests in order to fly back to Los Angeles for something even more important:
An introduction to her Godchild.
"Meeting my boy,” Swift wrote as a caption to the above Instagram photo, which features her, close friend Jaime King and King's newborn son, Leo Thames.
The actress gave birth to her second kid just last week.
A second online image finds Leo's hand curled around Swift’s finger, with the caption including the lyric “Your little hand’s wrapped around my finger and it’s so quiet in the world tonight…” from her song “Never Grow Up."
King also shared the sweet photo, writing along with it:
“My loves meet. Baby boy Leo Thames and his God Mother = Bliss.”
Swift has an endless array of famous friends (see below), but this is the first time any of them have named her Godmother of a child. It's a pretty significant honor.
What prompted King and husband Ryan Newman to take such a step?
"It was because of her morals and her values, the way that she treats people and how hard-working she is … her family and how close she is to them," King has said of Swift.
"I see what she gives out there to her fans and to her family. That’s the kind of person I want to be the guide and the spiritual protector of my child."
