What’s worse than receiving fried rat for dinner?

Okay… nothing. Nothing would be worse than that.

But some patrons in Ohio have cringed while walking through their grocery store alcohol aisle of late, due to the presence of Sweet Baby Jesus! beer there.

The Hollywood Gossip Logo

Heinen’s (a chain based in Cleveland) has decided to stop selling this chocolate and peanut butter porter after customers complained that the name was "offensive."

The beverage has been created by Baltimore-based DuClaw Brewing Co.

Heinen’s has 22 locations in Ohio and Illinois and has been selling the six-packs for two months.

“When you push boundaries and try to get one group excited about it, inevitably people are going to get upset on one side or the other,” Duclaw founder Dave Benfield tells the Baltimore Business Journal.

“[The name’s] not meant to be offensive, it’s not meant to be derogatory."

He went on to label the Sweet Baby Jesus! as "a phrase of excitement or astonishment.”

The beer does at least now join a long line of poorly-named food products out there (below), although we can think of far worse items to get upset over.

For example… are you aware that Duggar family recipes actually exist in the world?
