In the wake of Caitlyn Jenner’s debut on the cover of Vanity Fair, many have wondered how much her family members knew in the weeks leading up to her big reveal.
At first we assumed they were mostly kept in the loop, but as details of their reactions emerge, it seems that even Caitlyn’s inner circle was taken by surprise by her historic coming out.
Kris Jenner was jealous of the attention her ex received. Kylie and Kendall tweeted their stunned support. And Rob Kardashian literally didn’t even recognize the face staring back at him from the cover of Vanity Fair.
Speaking with Access Hollywood last night, Kim shared the story of her brother’s baffled reaction to his former step-father’s new look:
“[Rob asked] Kim, why are you sending me this? Who is this woman and why do I care?” Kardashian said. “ ‘Rob, that’s Bruce! That’s Caitlyn!’ He was like, ‘Oh my God, she’s beautiful!’ Then he called her and they had a love fest.”
Hey, if anyone in the family can relate to undergoing some major changes and receiving plenty of negative media attention, it’s Rob.
As far as we know, Rob is still in rehab, so it’s not surprising that he found out about the emergence of Caitlyn the same way as the rest of us.
What is surprising is that Caitlyn’s moment in the sun may have helped end the long-standing feud between Kim and Rob. Is there anything this woman can’t do!?
