Troubled star Lindsay Lohan needs all the help she can get. That much is beyond the shadow of a doubt ... but her new source of support is surprising.
And as the embattled Lohan finishes up her community service hours, it appears she is finding some much needed support in the Koran.
Lohan was photographed on Wednesday while carrying a copy of the Islamic holy text.
The pic was taken after her first day of her mandatory community service in Brooklyn at a children's center.
The actress of Irish and Italian descent was raised as a Catholic. However, she had a hardback copy of the Koran in her arm as she left the children’s center where she was two hours late for her service.
The 28-year-old Lohan has had a trouble history since skyrocketing to fame as a child. Her interest in the Koran may accompany her “emotional detox.”
The Koran promotes a sober lifestyle, free of alcohol. And although readers and followers of the Koran may not necessarily subscribe to the religion, it can service as a source of guidance.
Lindsay shown interests in various religious before.
At the peak of her teenage fame, she wore a Kabbalah red string bracelet. The bracelet is thought to prevent adversity brought on by the “evil eye.”
Around that time, rumors surfaced that Lindsay was attending Kabbalah classes. And in 2012, she supposedly joined Courtney Love’s Buddhist chanting group.
Lohan even describes herself as a “very spiritual person.” In a docu-series with Oprah, she said, “I'm a very spiritual person and I've become more spiritual as time has gone on.”
"There are so many powers greater than me in the world. I've been blessed and lucky enough to have been given a gift to share with other people.”
“I'm really in touch, whether it's prayer or meditation."
Lindsay has until May 28 to complete her court-ordered community service. The punishment is the result of her 2012 reckless driving conviction.
She had only logged 10 out of the required 125 hours.
The last few years have been a troubled mess for Lindsay. No matter where is comes form, we hope she finds the help and guidance she needs.
