If you follow Taylor Swift on Instagram, you know that she's built a veritable army of A-list besties, probably in the hope that round-the-clock girl talk might help her finally forget about Harry Styles.
Taylor's number one BFF is Karlie Kloss, but she's also assembled an X-Men-like supporting cast of famous female 20-somethings, each with her own unique skill set .
(We're not sure how Lena Dunham's ability to make everyone feel awkward with gratuitous nudity really adds anything of value, but maybe that's something that only the members of the Tay-Team can understand.)
After a years-long recruiting process, it looks as though Taylor feels that her roster is finally filled up, because she's apparently started rejecting more seemingly-qualified candidates than the Navy SEALs.
That's Elizabeth Olsen appearing on James Corden's talk show last night and explaining how she lost her cool and fan-girled out after meeting Taylor on a recent night out in LA.
"I just talked at her for, like, a long time, and I think I blew it," Olsen tells Corden. "We didn't exchange phone numbers or anything."
We don't get it. Elizabeth is famous, pretty, blonde; she's even dating Tom Hiddleston, for Pete's sake! She seems like she'd have all the makings of a Swift Chick.
Part of the problem may have been that Elizabeth told Taylor she'd been dancing to one of her songs in ballet class but she totally choked when pressed for details:
"She was asking me which song it was and I couldn't remember the song title, and I wasn't gonna sing it for her," Olsen says. "I'm still nervous thinking about it right now."
Ouch. You only get one chance to become a part of Taylor's crew; after that, you're on your own. Elizabeth might need to buddy up with Katy Perry for protection.
