Mob Wives star Angela "Big Ang" Raiola was recently diagnosed with a tumor in her throat the size of a lemon, and we have now learned that it is cancerous.
Still, the VH1 personality says she's staying positive, and not going anywhere.
Yesterday, we reported on Big Ang's throat tumor, and how she was admitted to a Staten Island hospital where doctors will soon attempt to remove it.
It was initially unclear if the growth was malignant, but now we know it is.
Ang’s sister, Janine Detore, says her sibling's voice is deteriorating as a result of the growth, which was found cancerous after doctors ran blood tests.
Janine fears Ang's 42 years of smoking might have played a role here.
None of the ordeal will be seen when you watch Mob Wives online, as this is not being filmed, although if she pulls through, it will likely come up later.
Ang is scheduled to have surgery next week to remove the tumor. In a post on Facebook, the reality star confirmed to fans what she'd been through.
"I had a nerve wracking couple of days, as would anyone when you hear testing etc..." the reality star opened her post. "I am home peaceful and relaxing."
"I will be taking proper precautions and having it removed."
"Big Ang isn't going anywhere! This is a minor setback, but I promise you ... I already have some BIG things in the world and will be returning to your TVs very soon."
"Always look after yourselves and don't neglect your health. I'm fortunate and blessed to have discovered something very early, and handle it in a positive manner."
"I thank you and I love you all from the bottom of my heart."
We wish Ang and her loved ones the best in this tough time ... and recommend some other celebrity smokers quit before the 42-year mark. Just saying.
