Move over, Britney Spears.

Make room for Mariah Carey!

The legendary artist confirmed yesterday, via a taped interview with Ellen DeGeneres, that she has signed a deal to perform as a resident at Caesar’s Palace in Las Vegas.

It’s unclear at the moment for how many weeks/months Carey will be on stage there, but her contract is expected to exceed that of Spears.

Britney pulls in $475,000 per show (seriously), with insiders telling TMZ that there’s no way Carey accepted anything under this amount.

"This is a special event for me," Mariah said on Ellen. "I have to hope that the fans will enjoy this ’cause I’m gonna be performing, which was kind of inspired by my album ‘#1’s,’ and this is now the updated version with 18 of them.”

Among the singles Carey will belt out on a nightly basis in Sin City? “Fantasy,” “We Belong Together,” “Dreamlover” and “Someday.”

Carey, of course, has been in the news for awhile due to her personal life, as she and Nick Cannon are in the midst of a divorce.

But all that personal drama makes it easy to forget: Mariah Carey is the most successful solo female artist of all-time. This residency is going to be HUGE.
