If you didn’t catch Saturday Night Live this week, then you missed one of the season’s high points, as castmember Kate McKinnon once again busted out her uproarious Justin Bieber impression, this time to poke fun at Bieber’s much-maligned Calvin Klein ads.
While an army Beliebers may not have enjoyed the sight of Justin being mocked on SNL, the singer himself didn’t seem to have a problem with the skits.
In a tweet directed at the official SNL account, Bieber wrote simply, "Well played. lol."
It’s a refreshing reminder that the Biebs is at least occasionally capable of laughing at himself. (You’d have to search far and wide to find another fabulously wealthy 20-year-old who seems to take life so seriously.)
Considering Bieber threatened to sue a website that suggested his CK modeling pics had been photoshopped, it’s somewhat surprising that he’s able to see the humor in lines like, "My Calvins…Clothes for my big wiener."
Maybe this is the dawn of a new era for Bieber. Perhaps Justin is as bored with the self-serious thug routine as the rest of us are, and he’s willing to occasionally drop the ridiculous facade and admit that his public persona is, in fact, pretty laughable.
Probably not, but at least he’s finally admitting that Kate McKinnon’s impression is freakin’ hilarious.
