Nearly two weeks after the world learned that June Shannon is dating a convicted child molester named Mark McDaniel, the former reality star and mother of Honey Boo Boo still has yet to make a definitive statement regarding her relationship with McDaniel.
Following news that McDaniel molested Anna Shannon when she was just 8 years old, there's been a public outcry to have June's other children removed from her home for their safety.
Sources say Child Protective Services has been unable to intervene, as neither Shannon nor McDaniel has violated any laws.
Now, however, it looks as though a concerned family member may be stepping in to save Shannon's three youngest daughters from their potentially dangerous living situation.
Lee Thompson - affectionately referred to as "Uncle Poodle" by his nieces - has reportedly informed June that he intends to fight for custody of Honey Boo Boo and her two older sisters.
That is, of course, unless Shannon completely cuts ties with McDaniel.
Insiders say Lee and his fiance have made it clear to Shannon that they will file for temporary custody immediately if she continues to allow McDaniel into her home.
Though he's reportedly confident that the court will find in his favor, Uncle Poodle will not seek permanent custody, as he'd like the children to live his brother - and Honey Boo Boo's father - Sugar Bear Thompson.
Sugar Bear is not fighting for custody at the moment because he claims that he lacks the necessary means to properly care for the children.
