The last thing we heard about Ms. Spears’ love life was that Britney and David Lucado were engaged. Now, it seems that after just over a year of dating, the couple has actually called it quits.
Radar Online reported that Brit broke it off with legal assistant Lucado as their hectic schedules made spending time together a near impossibility.
Sources say the split was amicable and that Brit and David actually parted was several months ago, but Spears opted to “focus on her boys” in the wake of the breakup, rather than re-enter the dating scene.
Yesterday, Spears posted a family photo, and many pointed out that Lucado was suspiciously absent from the snapshot, which we now know may have been Britney’s first public clue that she’s single.
Britney had spoken about trouble in her relationship in the past, opening up to Ellen DeGeneres about a fight between herself and Lucado that took place on her 32nd birthday in December:
Neither side has publicly confirmed the breakup as of yet, but it certainly seems that this is the latest in a long (long) line of breakups for Britney.
While her love life may be in shambles, however, Britney’s career is healthier than ever. The singer recently signed a deal to extend her residency at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas.
