This video from 2013's Comic-Con went viral last weekend, and awesomely so.

It features a young girl asking former Star Trek: The Next Generation star Wil Wheaton, "When you were a kid, were you called a nerd, and how did you deal with it?"

His answer? We'll let Wil take it from here, but it'll make your day:

"When I was a little boy," Wil said, "I was called a nerd all the time because I didn't like sports, I loved to read, I liked math and science."

"I thought school was really cool, and it hurt, a lot."

"Because it's never OK when a person makes fun of you for something that you didn't choose. We didn't choose to be nerds."

"We can't help it that we like those things."

"We shouldn't apologize for liking these things," he urged, and went on to explain even further to his young fan that it's not her problem, but the bullies'.

"When a person makes fun of you, when a person is cruel to you, it has nothing to do with you. It's about them feeling bad about themselves. They feel sad."

"They don't get positive attention from their parents."

"They don't feel as smart as you."

"It absolutely gets better as you get older," he added, concluding, "Don't ever let them make you feel bad because you love something they decided is only for nerds."

Well spoken, Wil. You're our new hero.
