Kate Winslet is an Oscar winner and multiple-time Oscar nominee. She may be the best actress of her generation.
But the British beauty has come under fire after giving birth to a son in December; partly because she named the child Bear and partly because she now has three kids by three different men.
And Winslet is sick of the criticism.
“No one has a right to comment on anyone’s life or the choices I do or don’t make,” she tells the new issue of Glamour. “It’s very easy to be judgmental until you know someone’s truth. People have no idea at all. “
Winslet goes on to say the negative reaction to her personal love “baffles” her and is “not very nice,” adding:
“I’m really sorry to the nation’s press that I fell in love and got pregnant; I do apologize if you deem that irresponsible.”
Married to a man named Ned Rocknroll, the talented star also bristles at the notion that her son will take that unusual last name.
“It was always going to have my name,” she says, referencing her other kids and concluding: “Mia and Joe have it as part of their name, so it would be weird if this baby didn’t. Of course we’re not going to call it RocknRoll. People might judge all they like, but I’m a fucking grown-up.”
