It’s safe to say Beyonce’s risk has paid off.

And then some.

The artist released a self-titled album exclusively on iTunes Friday morning, coming out with 14 fresh tracks despite nary a word of promotion. So, how is the collection doing?

At last check, "BEYONCE" has moved 828,772 copies, easily becoming the fastest-selling album in iTunes history and putting the singer on pace for the highest tally for a female solo artist since Taylor Swift sold 1.2 million copies of "Red" in November 2012.

It is also number-one in 104 countries and has already topped Beyonce’s personal best: 2006’s "B’day" sold 541,000 copies in its first week

 

Beyonce had some help with the album, of course.

She collaborated with such major names as Drake, Frank Ocean and Jay Z, who is featured in the above music video for "Drunk in Love."
