Miley Cyrus is doing a lot more than Twerking these days.
According to Billy Ray Cyrus, via an interview with Entertainment Tonight, the country singer is also smiling. A lot. Maybe more than ever before.
Asked about the criticism Miley has received ever since her MTV VMA performance, along with her split from Liam Hemsworth, Billy Ray shrugged it all off and said he only cares about one thing.
“All I know for sure is I heard my daughter say today she’s the happiest she’s ever been in her life,” Cyrus said.
And it wasn’t so long ago when this wasn’t the case.
“Somewhere along the stress and strain of different things I didn’t see her smiling as often for a little while,” Billy Ray added, looking back just a few weeks ago.
Miley has scarcely talked about the end of her engagement to Hemsworth, choosing instead to focus on her interviews and this mature stage of her careers in interviews and television specials.
But Billy Ray makes it clear: being single is very much agreeing with the 20-year old.
“All of a sudden she’s like the sun, and when she smiles it’s light,” he said. “Everything happens for a reason and the main thing for me, as Miley’s daddy, is she’s happy.”
