Robin Quivers made a shocking announcing on Howard Stern’s Sirius radio show this morning:

She took a significant amount of time off from the program last year due to a diagnosis of cancer.

Quivers, who has served for years as Stern’s right-hand woman, told listeners that she’s been undergoing chemotherapy and was recently told by physicians that she is now disease-free.

Just how close was Stern to losing his coworker and good friend? During the segment, he admitted to feeling chills when hearing Robin’s brave tale and added:

“I gotta be honest, I thought she was a goner.”

Thankfully, he was mistaken and the future looks very bright for Quivers, who said doctors discovered a “mass” in her pelvis last year. They removed it via surgery and Robin spent most of last year doing the show from home while undergoing treatment.

She has been by Stern’s occupational side since 1981.

“Robin means more to me than anything,” the host said. “Seeing her go through this just f-cking tore me up.”
