For a Potterhead like myself, the world seemed to come to a slight screeching halt when the last movie came out. What were we going to do? What did we have to look forward to?
Thankfully Pottermore was announced in 2011, and the magical anticipation was renewed. Then this past year, Playstation got in the game and Sony brought Pottermore to Playstation Home.
You can walk through Diagon Alley and unlike the Google Maps Harry Potter Universe, this is all interactive. Go have your wand choose you in Olivanders and visit the Weasley twins in their shop.
You can ride the Hogwarts Express, visit the Great Hall, and after you’ve linked your Pottermore account, you can even hang out in your House’s Great Room.
All while playing games, trading cards, and practicing your spell casting with other members of Pottermore.
Pottermore in Playstation Home really is intended to play as a companion to the online game as the items you earn on the computer? Some of those can be brought into Home.
Speaking of Pottermore on the computer…
At first there was outrage when the entire series wasn’t released at launch but, I think, it’s worked out in the end. I could have either sat down in one week and played through the entire thing, or I can slowly work through it and take my time.
Actually if you look at that image there, you’ll see that I go really, really slowly. I would say it’s because I’m savoring it but let’s be honest, I keep getting busy and forgetting about it.
I’m failing my fellow Ravenclaws in the race for the House Cup and am appropriately ashamed.
So far only Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, and part of Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban have been released but that’s about to change. Sometime “this summer” the final section of Prisoner of Azkaban will be opened, per the Pottermore Insider.
They have been kind enough to give this little teaser pic of something from the upcoming chapters. It’s been forever since I read Prisoner of Azakaban so I can’t tell what it is at all. Anyone?
So now that I’ve given you plans for the afternoon, go! Have fun! Enjoy!
Go Ravenclaws!
