Kasey Kahl may have once dated Vienna Girardi, but he’s still a lucky man.

The former Bachelorette star has avoided jail time for his role in a January 2012 bar brawl in which he was accused of breaking a man’s nose and also slugging his girlfriend.

He pleaded no contest to a felony assault charge in March and was sentenced today to three years of probation and community service.

According to the police report, Kahl was “very intoxicated” and allegedly shouted insults at Renee Idsinga and her boyfriend, Richard Chaney.

He then went on to strike Chaney a number of times in the face and head, though Kahl maintains he was acting in self-defense after being jumped for “no reason.”

If the former reality star adheres to his sentencing guidelines, the charges may be expunged from his record.
